I want to gear this blog toward everybody and not just one ethic group or one particular social class. Something that everybody can read and get something out of it. Since this is really the first post I'll tell you a little about myself. I'm not rich I'm not poor. I like to think I'm in the middle class but the reality is a lot of us are in the lower class. It's not because of a lack of not having enough knowledge. It's more of a motivation. Have you ever seen someone with a broken spirit try and win? Well that's what we deal with. As of jun 22 2011 I am 26 in the national guard and claim to be unemployed (which just means I don't work every day). Okay That's enough. This isn't about me. So let's get started
This is something I don't think anyone will teach you unless they are actively doing it. The Side Hustle. It's always good to have a job. But what you need to know is there is no such thing as job security. Getting an education is great but I'm here to tell you that all that money that was spent on your secondary education might one day fail you. College graduates working at McDonald's, stocking at Wal-Mart. It’s a real thing. In a nut shell Donald trump made millions, went broke and made more millions doing something different. The key is not to have the best degree not to have the best job. The key is to know how to make money. I don't mean literally print money. I mean know how to get paid. “The Side Hustle”, anything can be a side hustle. Some examples are selling candy. Selling cd's. Some people flip* cars. Some people flip* houses. Also some people sell drugs. Let’s be real about it. I'm not saying that's a good choice but it falls under the definition of side hustle. If your desire is to be independent then a side hustle is all you need. It doesn't have to make you a whole bunch of money it’s just something that can pick up the slack when your main hustle or job is not sanctifying your monetary needs.
When I had a job I was making 15 dollars an hour, 10 to 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. With over time after 40 hours a week paying time and a half, roughly that would have put me in the lowest half of the middle class (barely making it). Regular hours were 8 hours 5 days a week which is a lower class job. When hours were cut to 6 hours a day 4 days a week, which is a part time job, you could literally feel the pressure. People went out to get second jobs or loans to help pay bills that their regular job should of been paying for. I refused to get another job because I thought it was an outrageous concept to have support for a job that should be able to maintain the glamorous lifestyle that I have come custom to. None the less I had to cut back. While working one day this guy asked me what else I do. And it seemed like such a strange question. So I said "nothing what do you mean?" And he said "how else do you make money" and I said "this job" this is my income. He gave me this look like he know something I didn't and was supposed to know. He told me I need a side hustle and told me about job security and all that stuff. Pretty much what I just told you. So my mind was molded that day and I had to figure out another way to make money "on the side". I started selling cd's, slow at first and then it picked up. Killing my competition (other cd sellers at my job) because I'm not greedy and I sold good product. People started buying my homemade mixes. I had a side hustle and it wasn't bring in a lot of money but it was bringing in enough to not have to spend my regular check on food or entertainment. Which is just what you need, something to pick up the slack. For your information most side hustles are illegal including selling cd's. Yeah I wasn't making a huge profit but you have to have a business license to have a business. No matter how small. They way the government is set up you can't even cut your own hair without a license. Uncle Sam Has to get his money first and foremost. So keep that in mind when you go out and find something to sell or provide a service for money. Good Luck and I'm rooting for you
